Apramycin is a broad-spectrum aminocyclitol antibiotic produced by a strain of Streptomyces tenebrarius.Apramycin Sulfate use for the control of porcine colibacillosis (weanling pig scours) caused by strains of E. coli sensitive to apramycin. It is extracted from the fermentation medium as apramycin sulphate with a purity of at least 85%. A microbiological assay is used to determine activity as equivalents of apramycin base. Apramycin is synthesized stereospecifically by Streptomyces tenebrarius. It exists as a single enantiomer for which absolute configurations have been determined. Apramycin Sulfate Soluble powder is a water soluble preparation containing apramycin sulfate. Apramycin is a broad spectrum antibiotic of the aminocyclitol group, produced by the actinomycete Streptomyces tenebrarius. This compound is highly soluble in water, slightly soluble in the lower alcohols and essentially insoluble otherwise.
Apramycin Sulfate Usage:
It can interfere the bacteria with composing protein. The drug can interfere prokaryotes with composing ribosomal proteins and restrain the harmful bacteria in the animal body, treating the disease caused by Escherichia coli, Salmonella. It will improve the intestinal mucosal structure, promote the synergy effect which relate to the endocrine activity of growth and enhance the feed conversion rate by restraining the reproduction of Escherichia coli.
Indications:
It has stronger antibacterial activity to gram-negative bacteria and most of gram-positive bacteria which is easy to infect poultry. Especially, it has very strong antibacterial effect on Escherichia coli, Salmonella, Staphylococcus aureus which has drug resistance to other antibiotics.
What's more, it is not easy to generate drug resistance, and it has not cross resistance with other aminocyclitols antibiotic.
It can prevent and treat dysentery and dysplasia, which are caused by Escherichia coli for pigs, chickens and cows. As feed additive, it can enhance the weight growth and feed conversion rate of livestock and poultry.
Usage&Dosage:
Poultry: Take this drug to prepare liquid which contain Apramycin 250 mg/L. Continuous drinking for 3 days is a course for prevent, and continous drinking for 5 days is a course for treatment.
Pigs: Per kilogram of body weight add 12.5 mg, continous drinking for 7 days.
Chicken: Add 5 g active ingredient per 1000 kg of feed.
Precautions:
- It will occur synergistic reaction when it is used together with Penicillin and Cephems.
- It is inadvisable to use this drug together with aminoglycosides.
